This privacy policy covers the Park Pocket: Etosha app on Google Play, and any future Park Pocket apps published under the same umbrella. Park Pocket is operated by DeGans. Contact: hello@parkpocket.app.
The Etosha app ships with its map data, points of interest, and historical wildlife sightings as bundled assets. None of this data identifies you. Nothing is downloaded after install for the data to work.
Location
The Etosha app uses your device location only when you open the "Around me" feature. Your location is used on-device to calculate the nearest waterholes, camps, and gates. Your location never leaves your device. We do not transmit it, log it, or share it with anyone.
If you do not grant the location permission, every other feature of the app continues to work. Only the "Around me" feature is unavailable.
Data we don't collect
The Etosha app does not collect personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting service, no telemetry, and no advertising identifiers in use.
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, regardless of age, because the app does not collect personal data at all.
Your rights
Because the Etosha app does not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no personal data on file for us to access, correct, export, or erase. If you have a question about this policy, or you want to confirm that no data is associated with you, contact hello@parkpocket.app and we will respond.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be noted on the Park Pocket landing page.
